Hartley and De Renzo plan to build The Green Monkey his own barn at the farm, and they are considering allowing special tours of the farm that will allow visitors to see The Green Monkey.

"I think people would like to see him," De Renzo said. "He’s a pretty special horse. His price was the most expensive in history, and he is a part of Thoroughbred history."

I can't imagine with the obsurd glut of proven stallions already available, that he'd see even one decent mare. He'll most likey turn out to be a serviceable 5K stud somewhere in Florida

I wouldn't breed my Jack Russell to him if they gave me the season.

you're saying you can't park a cadillac in a closet, right?

because i once saw this show in tijuana...

nevermind.

if you mentioned the possibility to your dog, i'd let her know it's off. she'll be relieved.

I thought she was pissed at me because her dinner was late.

I just feel bad for the horse that he has such foolish owners. Remember Slew's value price?

it's a a good thing they announced he was officially retired...otherwise, we'd have never known the difference between his 'career' and retirement.

I don't think its the horse's fault that 2 rather large egos got into a bidding war and 16million will always be associated with this horse.

I just can't wait to see a string of future claimers with "Monkey" in their name. Submit your favorite names with suggested mares.

So true. And it's not like Pletcher ever touted this horse to be something special. he knew he was in trouble with him at Saratoga as a 2yo when he couldn't find any horses in his barn that the green monkey could keep up with.
