Where is the word outplayed in that bolded nonsense? I like the trashing that's not in bold.

I would have to say that if any team is a 12 point favorite they shouldn't need or have to rely on lucky breaks. The Giants defense did something no other team was able to do this year and put Brady on his rear end several times. And lucky breaks? 12 men on the field call wasn't lucky? The interception off the hands of Smith wasn't lucky? The lob pass that Manning missed Plexico on when he was rolling out was very very lucky for the Patriots. If the Giants convert there, then there may not have been even a need for a comeback. So, people can come up with this lucky break hogwash all they want to, but the result is what it is. Great job Giants.

No one said the Giants didnt play well. But they DID get more breaks than the other team. It is not a knock, it is an observation. The Pats got the breaks when they should have lost to the Ravens. They did not last night. Difference between winning and losing in a close game. We can agree that it was a close game cant we Giant fans? Or was it a thorough 3 point blowout?

I know that. Heck, I'm a Giants fan and I didn't think they'd win, but I was very impressed with their defense. They set the tone for the game. It was by no means a blowout. The giants were not going to win a shoot out. The needed to just keep the game close and have a chance to win it in the end. The Giants were similar to a Cinderella team in the NCAA. They got hot at the right time of the season.

I'm just not a big fan of the luck excuse. What stood out to me was New England going pass happy on their final drive. When they got down to the Giants 29 with a little over 4 minutes remaining I was certain they were going to run the ball and milk the clock.

Bottom line is they scored too soon. The only excuse I will give the Patriots is that Belichick seemed to be off his game last night...and the final offensive drive was an indicator. Either that or the hubris was on overdrive.

They played very passively on offense. It was like they fell in love with the Jacksonville gameplan and tried to duplicate it. When they opened it up late they moved efficently. But the Giants beat up the Oline and Brady didnt seem to be the same player. Maybe it was the pressure but he missed a lot of passes by alot. Some of Welkers catches were poorly thrown and he missed quite a few easy ones. But you have to give the Giants front 7 a lot of credit. And despite my assertions that the Giants had a couple breaks on offense, they didnt have any really bad turnovers.

They played great on defense and only turned it over once on offense. My point has been that they got some important breaks and that surely helped. The difference between Belichek being the greatest coach in history and a disgruntled guy who left the field early was the ball going through his best corners hands. That is not taking anything away from the Giants. I also dont buy that this is the biggest upset in history. That would be a discredit for the Giants because they are a really good team. NE beating the Rams in 2002 was a more unlikely outcome and the Jets in 69 will be hard to top. I mean they played a month ago and lost by 3 to the same team.

Since when is pointing out what happened trashing? The Giants "outplayed" the Pats. They also caught a few more breaks. Simple. If you take offense to interceptions that went through all-pro corners hands and miracle catches, go right ahead. It was a great game. If they played 10 times I would have a hard time saying that it wouldnt be 5-5. Hard to say the truth is trashing or knocking.

No, and I hardly see where I am being biased. Did you not watch the game? If not for a missed catch or recovered fumble couldnt the game have had the opposite outcome? I didnt say that the Giants were not worthy or that NE should have won. But they were fortunate. And that has been the entire point of my posts. Fortunate teams win close games.
