Good Luck Everybody and especially Dee Tee Stables! - for those in town, I'll see ya at the Downs!

Couldn't disagree with you more on the last race (that's why I love this game). I think there are several capable of knocking off your top two. Too many things can happen in a 5f turf dash (bad break, traffic, wide trip, etc...) that leave the horse with too much work to do and not enough distance to get there.

1 - Not Acclaim - Will be flying from the outset for Kirk Zaidie. 5f specialist will try to take them the whole way.
2 - Hold the Salt - Recently won a 100k Stake at KD.
3 - Salute the Count - Is dangerous for Dutrow. Blazing PmM work. 2nd in the Jaipur to Ecclesiastic and beat Weigelia. Listed Stake winner at Med.
4 - Bucky's Prayer - Horse for the course. Former track record holder here.

There are some very interesting horses in here and this is probably the nicest race we've seen here this meet (including the stakes)...That said, IMO Trombetta's horse is in a class by itself - solid string of works coming in so the lay off is not a concern; Velez up; 7-2-1-2 the distance over turf - could make a case to include Salute the Count, but This is all the 8. I hope your right so I get a better price

I am scratching my head as to why Weigelia is even in this race. This is a pretty tough field and he's running for a measly $21,200 purse. There is a race this Sunday at GP that he is eligible for (6f dirt) with a purse of $59,000.

TENTH RACE ALLOWANCE OPTIONAL CLAIMING
Purse $59,000. (Plus $5,000 F.O.A. Winner Supp.) For Four Year Olds And
Upward Which Have Not Won $25,000 Twice Other Than Maiden, Claiming
Or Starter Since August 2, 2007 Or Claiming Price $100,000.
Weight 124 lbs.
Non-winners Of Two Races Since January 3 2 lbs.
A Race Since Then 4 lbs.
(Maiden , Claiming, And Starter Races Not Considered In Allowances)
SIX FURLONGS

If the horse was doing well and ready to go, why not run for the bigger purse? The bullets he has shown indicate that he is okay with the GP dirt surface, so why run here today?

I could be way off base, but it just seems odd to me.

Matt- was wondering if they (the connections of Weigelia) were looking to duplicate a similar plan to BPL...He came in here on 1/18 from GP, blew an alw field away by open lengths then ran back at GP 4 days later for a meatier purse and won that as well....

For what it's worth and I know there are far, far better trip handicappers in here than myself, but #6 RAVENCLIFF in Race 9 had quite the trip last time out, breaking slow, racing wide, wider, wider and then fighting through the stretch to come up just short all the time while rallying into a slow pace. You have to figure that one's between him and Michael Catalano's horse on the rail.

Quite possibly the Super Stakes on 2/9 going 7F. He ran a very nice 2nd in it last year and also won going 7 in the Kenny Noe in Dec, '06.

Maybe he needed the race today but I didn't think he looked very good.
