I'm presuming, by "guard dog" he means barker, as, thanks to my research, I found out pit bulls true to the breed are likely to bark furiously at an intruder, then eventually lick his hand and show him to the stereo. The owner interviewed well, invited my friends to where he lives/works, and introduced them to his brother and his brother's Labrador (with whom the pit bull got along great, so it looks like he'll have a buddy, too). Best of all, he said my friends can come out and visit whenever they want.

The dog's new owner will call in a week if he doesn't want him after all, and my friends will take him back in that case. And they asked him for right of first refusal if he ever has to give away the dog.

Hooray for one more off the streets (and now neutered and with his shots)!
Glad to hear that he found a home, Nicole... it was a really good thing that you did by picking him up off of the street.
