I was 17 at the time, so my dad had to cash it for me. Before that he'd just send me down with our money and bets and they never said a thing. '96 ?? Smarty Jones was the lightning bolt that randomly hits....the year that every idiot was right.
I'm not saying that you had to be an idiot to like him, though the two are far from mutually exclusive, but that he was the horse that every idiot liked. Fortunately, they are right occasionally as well.
