http://www.chrb.ca.gov/press_release...ss_release.pdf Hollywood Park President Rick Baedeker said an LED display board has been purchased that will move from meet to meet. -------------------------------------------------------------------- Edit - Just found this but it is blocked at work so I can't get to it. Looks like the LED display board is the tote board. http://www.thoroughbredtimes.com/nat...randstand.aspx |

In No. Cal - There's been a reported 17 horses who either "broke down" were "vanned off" or "walked off" over a span of 13 days - In So. Cal, an entire weekend of racing at the great Santa Anita winter meet has been lossed.
It's just a shame Fairplex doesn't have a turf course I guess. |

Assuming the track is in good enough shape to run this Thursday, does anyone know if/how they'll reschedule the stakes races they lost last weekend?
I don't know how that's usually handled, or how it affects the condition book of the weeks ahead. |

It will be interesting to see how this thing shakes out. In a month the people in SoCal could be complaining about a drought again. So we never know...
But! Just say they get one of these storms... say... I don't know... around the last weekend in October next year. They better get the sh*t figured out quick, because the Breeders Cup is less than a year away. I wonder if the Breeeders Cup people are watching closely, and thinking of contingencies...

I live in Southern CA and it rarely rains in October. Even if it does rain, it won't be much. It will be a negligible amount. I predict whatever track they have installed will be fine during that time period.
