guess reason asked is have no idea what kind of facility it is, large layup center or just a couple of stalls in somebody's backyard - but what you say is all true - this is the best time of year for them, they love the cold, the mud the snow, it's a "horse" thing lol - am half-afraid Sumwon is gonna be tearin the doors off her stall to get out in it, am sending best wishes to her handlers RIGHT NOW !

and hadta chuckle about your reference to vermont, recently received some pictures of a friend's christmas vacation there, am left with no complaints lol...

and in truly cold weather like VT where I used to live....it takes about 5 pounds of hay to raise a horses temp one degree (I forget where I read that....but you just load them up on roughage when it's cold)

If it's the place I'm thinking of (a place I've been to) it's very nice physically, good-sized professional working barn, and the time I was there the place was very clean, the horses happy, calm, and well-kept.

thank you for the reassurances, just didn't want Sumwon to think she's been sent off to a detention center and end up having a hissy like paris hilton - I'M KIDDING...

but would be nice if she was in somebody's backyard barn, maybe they'd write to us about her...
