I have no idea how this guy gets re-instated every time??
He is a joke and his repeated violations should have him banned from the sport for Life!!! this is his 4th or 5th time for his comeback and he still does stupid stuff like that. He is only in this game for the money and that is a fact. |

I for one will wish him the best in his war against his demons and hope he can come back clean and sober.
I find it to be a character flaw to kick someone when their addictions take everything away from them. We all have our faults. |

the ability in someone with his problem is the proverbial double edged sword. he gets more chances because of it. that means he can go longer than less talanted people before he really has to deal with it. i know it seems like it's unfair but he's the marketplace in action. if you're really pissed about it take some solace in this. i guarentee he is hollow inside until he gets a grip on the problem. whatever the outside appearence the guy is suffering. |

Not to make light of the situation, drinking and driving and all...but the idea of a jock going through a fast food drive thru at 3 am is pure comedy gold...
Track Annoucer: "Late Changes: All of P Val's mounts 3lbs over due to late nite Baja Supreemo Double Steak Gorditas"...lol |

You can tell his lifestyle has taken a hit.He is hangin' out in Upland instead of the Pasadena/Arcadia/Sierra Madre areas.

other jocks have lost their licenses for less, p val has had so many chances, and continues to blow them. pointing out that he is a troubled person who can't seem to help himself isn't kicking him when he's down, it's the truth.
the chrb is partly at fault with his continued issues, as they continue to give him 'one more chance'. so where is the incentive to get help? much like cole norman, he won't do anything about the situation until HE feels there is a problem, and he is ready to do something about it. i think p val should have to go thru a substantial program, and then remain clean and sober for a year after exiting that program, with clean tests throughout that year, before they even consider giving him a license again.

I dont think this is a party thing. This is chronic and serious. After he shaved all his body hair I was convinced he has no clue how to help himself. I dont know if one is supposed to pity this, or what. But he clearly cannot help himself. Another case of self medicating athlete. an athlete that needs medical help. |

And no racing jurisdiction has made more controversial and questionable rulings in recent years than the CHRB. Today is just one less day Patrick Valenzuela will have to wait before being reinstated (once again). No one seems to be learning from all this. The CHRB is just as guilty of stupidity as Mr. Valenzuela. Ain't that the truth ? |

Atleast he has lost his license for doing something that endangered somebody else.

He was winning at about a 9% clip this go around. He can stay gone now. He's not good enough to get another chance.

Time for the permanent ban. I feel bad for anyone with a substance problem but I lose all sympathy rather quickly when someone risks other peoples lives driving around loaded.
That being said I am sure someone will license him. |

The man has a dirty addiction, plain and simple. Look at Heath Ledger, or John Belushi for that matter. They can't help himself, to just say they are weak minded is simplifying it too much.
Has P Val had one too many chances, yes. Should anybody care? Probably not. I for one hope he seeks help to kick his demons once and for all, first for himself and not from a horseracing point of view. As a samaritan it is much better I would say than shoving someone under a bus. |
