Having said that, he hasn't won anywhere since February 2006. He was also beaten three lengths by Fight in November. What makes you say he is the best of Doug's with that form?

![]() Pride Of Baghdad won quite well today.
I might be thinking of a different horse with a similar name, but he's a bit of a character, isn't he? Doesn't always want to win.

![]() Could be.
His last gallant win, in a field of 4 no less..... Sweet boy. Look at the date... ![]() NEWMARKET (JULY) 08 August 2003 Good To Firm 8:20 Bexhill And IIB Insurance Brokers Conditions Stakes (Class C) (Class 3) (3yo+) 1m2f Draw TRAINER Age Wgt JOCKEY SP OR TS RPR 1 Bonecrusher 4 D R Loder 4 8-13 v1 L Dettori EvensF 104 44 109 2 2½ Gallant Hero (GB) 3 Sir Michael Stoute 4 8-13 K Fallon 3/1 104 39 105 3 nk Barrissimo (IRE) 2 W J Musson 3 8-4 Richard Mullen 10/1 39 104? 4 1¾ Shamrock City (IRE) 1 P Howling 6 8-13 Seb Sanders 100/30 99 35 101? This looked a good opportunity for BONECRUSHER to return to winning form and, equipped with a visor for the firdt time, ran out an easy winner. He was a little keen early-on but when the leader stepped up the tempo he travelled much more easily and going into the final two furlongs there only appeared one winner. He readily went to the front over a furlong out and galloped on strongly to the line. He could now be starting to discover the potential he possessed as a three-year-old and looks capable of adding to this victory in listed company. Gallant Hero probably found the ground too lively and was being vigorously ridden when coming under pressure in the final three furlongs. To his credit he kept on going all the way to the line and should find a similar event when ground conditions are in his favour. Shamrock City had run a blinder over a mile here last weekend and set out to make all but was clearly no match for the winner. However, he clearly retains his ability and will find a race in due course. Barrissimo ran a sound race for one so inexperienced and on his first outing since last October. He should improve for the run and he won't be long in winning either. |

![]() Ofcourse.
As soon as you have posted that I remember the old boy. His name didn't mean that much, but no I remember him quite well. How could I ever forget this race: 3:45 Weatherbys Bank Stakes (Registered As The Doonside Cup) (Listed Race) (Class 1) (3yo+) (1m2f192y) 1m3f [off 3:45] £17,400.00, £6,600.00, £3,300.00, £1,500.00, £750.00, £450.00 Draw TRAINER Age Wgt JOCKEY SP OR TS RPR 1 Into The Dark 6 Saeed Bin Suroor 3 8-4 tv Kerrin McEvoy 5/4 114 98 117 2 5 Percussionist (IRE) 1 J H M Gosden 3 8-11 K Darley EvensF 118 95 119+ 3 ½ Bonecrusher 3 D R Loder 5 8-11 v Seb Sanders 9/1 105 88 108 4 28 Howards Dream (IRE) 5 D A Nolan 6 8-11 t David Allan 500/1 30 32 60? 5 14 Society Times (USA) 4 D A Nolan 11 8-11 t Patrick Mathers 500/1 30 3 36? 6 dist Court Of Appeal 2 B Ellison 7 8-11 t Tom Eaves 25/1 90 — — 6 ran TIME 2m 27.85s (slow by 10.35s) TOTAL SP 108% 1st OWNER: Godolphin BRED: Gainsborough Stud Management Ltd TRAINER: Saeed Bin Suroor 2nd OWNER: Sangster Family 3rd OWNER: Mohammed Rashid INTO THE DARK extended his unbeaten run to four with another workmanlike display, but, with Percussionist showing very little - he struggled to get past the 11-year-old selling plater Society Times turning for home - and Bonecrusher refusing to battle, this was a pretty hollow victory. A horse who was unraced as a juvenile, Into The Dark has progressed well all season and will not be raced much more before being put away for next year when he could develop into an even better performer. Percussionist looked well below the form that saw him beaten only two lengths into fourth in the Derby. He subsequently blotted his copybook with a poor display in the Irish Derby, while an unsatisfactory blood count had ruled him out of last week's StLeger. Here, he was being scrubbed along a long way from home and could never get to grips with the winner. Although slightly hampered by the hanging Bonecrusher, the writing was already on the wall at that point. Bonecrusher has plenty of ability, but looks reluctant to use it and, after making good headway to look a threat to the winner, hung his head and cried enough under pressure. The remaining trio were well beaten, with Court Of Appeal running as though something was amiss. (T O'R)
