the coaching merry-go-round is starting to be a joke.
2 things that make the NCAA a joke.
1. BCS
2. Allowing the coaches to jump from school to school and just about blackmail the Universities yet when a kid wants to transfer for legit reasons he must sit out a year. Or when a guy like Bloom from Colorado is a legit pro in another sport, they dont allow him to make any money without losing eligibility.

The hottest coach available for the 2009 season will be Bobby Petrino.

funny you mention petrino, as some yahoo called the local sports radio talk show, and suggested that maybe arkansas could get BP. um, yeah.

arkansas needs to find a guy who has not yet been head coach, but is ready to make the leap. they need an up and comer, either an OC, or a DC.

but arkansas has a horrible habit of running off some pretty good coaches who have produced for them.

lou holtz, nolan richardson, houston and of course stan heath--he got the heave ho when a BIG name in b'ball was looking to make a change. oops. he had no interest in coming here however.

Considering how bad they have been over the past few years, Stan Heath has worked wonders with USF so far.

stan heath should never have been let go by the hawgs. i'm not sure exactly what they expected from him at arkansas, but he was doing a very good job.
for whatever reason, many fans here have unrealistic expectations. then reality strikes, and they're unhappy fans with more unrealistic expectations.
case in point, how many down here thought they had a chance vs USC the last few years.

Well he has to get fired by the Falcons first. That may take another year. Though he may rather go to Miami or FSU if not back to Louisville.

I am not so sure that ol Jimbo is a lock. They may just be defering to BB but if they have a 4-8 season I can see the whole thing blown up and Bowden and his guy forced out. Why couldn't you see Petrino at Miami? He is a perfect fit.

i have a feeling someone approached fisher, and that's why fsu came out with the 'he's our guy when bowden leaves' line. i thought a year ago when they hired him that they were just prepping for their future. i think BB is just trying to outlast paterno.

Apparenlty Jimbo is in a buyout situation, just like a head coach now. If he leaves he owes the school money, if they don't higher him as the next head coach they owe him money. Not sure any figure was discussed, but it was said to be in the millons.

i'm probably wrong but i don't see petrino putting up with that gangster mentallity that ends up at miami.

other than fisher and the o-line coach, that fsu staff is old and been together along time, off and on through the years. if they lose 6-7 games again, i could see them blowing the whole thing up and i think petrino would be a better fit at fsu than miami.

if fisher has an "out clause" in his contract, i'm sure it's for wvu. i can't see that being open anytime soon.
