My only thing is that it is too much. Me personally, it will never get a dime of my money because I never figure out who is going to run third let alone 5th.

I can see how vertical players will take a shot at this, it is alot like 'their' P6. I can see why they are giving it a shot.

I just don't want to see dilution of pick three/four pools and exacta pools becuase people are taking a shot at this. California is the only area I DO GOOD IN.

I agree completely, but if it is a success, that is great.

Anything to drum up interest is fine by me.

If we can have a bet on the Hi 5, why not the Lo 5? That, to me, is easier to hit!! And, come to think of it, why don't we have a LAST bet. I mean, come on, aren't there times when you'd like to have a LAST place wager??? Is it because we don't want owners/trainers to enter into races where they know they will get last place and still make out like bandits?!??! Who's running this show? Hi 5? How about LAST PLACE!! that's what i'm talking about!

This bet is very big in France ( I believe it is called the quinte ) and they seem to have it on one race a day at one of the tracks racing. Obviously they look to pick one of the bigger fields. Since you can bet the races in bars pretty much all over the pools can get pretty big.

I'm also not sure how their bet is set up, as I'm not sure there aren't tiered payoffs, and nobody either understood it well enough to explain it to me or spoke enough English to do so.

Or maybe it was just because they were French?

Anyone else concerned about the jocks who have a tendency to stop riding if they will not get 3rd $ or better? I expect we will hear outcry about Jocks throwing races, concspiracy, etc It is a luck wager, like powerball. Most races I see no one is actually "riding hard" for 5th. Will this race change that behavior? Will the track talk about this with the Jockeys and Trainers?
