If Missouri loses.

The screams for a playoff system yet again will be heard.
Ohio State sits at home watching the top teams get beat.
If you dont play, ya cant lose. (Even though I think Ohio st. belongs in the BCS championship.) But you got Georgia, not even playing in their conf. championship, not even winning their conf., with a chance at the National Championship?

This should be a riot.

Personally, I would like to see Ohio State against USC.

This is great. Georgia is looking very good to make the title game. Just like Nebraska some years ago when the made the title game without even winning their conference tournament. Maybe these conferences will stop having conference championship games since they are absolutely worthless and sometimes end up hurting more than helping. Ask Missouri. I know they won't ever stop them because of how much revenue they bring it but it's funny that they have them and a team like LSU can win it and Georgia can sit home and make it to the title game. If this year isn't the biggest argument for a playoff, I don't think there ever will be one. Georgia not only didn't win their conference title........they didn't even win their DIVISION in their conference.

That would be great.
Then teams could wait 2 1/2 months for the championship game.

Man all these crappy bowls would really flourish. Bowl eligible with 3 wins.
Somehow they got to get all these Bowl comittees and college presidents together for some sort of playoff. This vestigial relic bowl system wont go away just like a tailbone. All it does is hurt when the wrong things happen.

Maybe in my lifetime.

If HAWAII wins tonite, they gotta be given a shot.If LSU had just 1 loss, then I would say LSU versus OHIO State.Unforgiveable to lose to Arkansas.LSU coach is going insane anyways.

Lol @ Hawaii.

Back to real football teams.

I'm watching ESPN and they are saying that their numbers crunching BCS guy is saying that it's going to be Ohio St. and LSU in the title game. So that would mean that #7 LSU would have to jump over #4 Georgia, #5 Kansas and #6 Virginia Tech. I don't have any real issue with LSU being there. It's my personal feeling that they are the nations best team, albeit by a slim margin. I believe Oklahoma is the second best team. I do find it kind of odd though that Virginia Tech could go into today ranked one spot higher than LSU, they both win today, Virginia Tech beats the higher ranked team (Boston College is higher than Tennessee) and LSU passes them. Again, I do believe LSU is better than Va Tech and proved it by destroying them earlier this year.

I agree Cannon, the Pitt/WV game was a fixed game. The refs are lucky that Pitt won.

If LSU does not go to the BCS game, then I am sure that the Rose Bowl will pick LSU. Then you would have the true championship game: USC v LSU. That is the game that everyone wants to see.

Ohio State will go to the BCS game, but they are not one of the top two teams in America. Heck, they are prob 5th at best. Georgia should not go since they did not win their division.

Why not Hawaii like Scuds mentioned.

If Hawaii is given a shot, Oklahoma should move into the MAC next year and go undefeated. Texas could move to conference USA, since we beat beat UCF, the champs of that conf. in a romp.

Thats the ticket...

Boise State played well when they were undefeated last year.Fact is there are no great teams.I don't want anybody with 2 losses playing for the National Championship. It's stupid.Even more stupid than Hawaii playing for it.

I realize they don't play much but how can you not give the BCS honors to the only quality undefeated team in the country...

I hope Georgia goes and defeats OSU so I can say..the SEC is so tough, even the national champs couldn't win the SEC title...hell, the national champs couldn't even win their own division in the SEC title quest.

This is funny. I believe it was YOU who said the same thing last year about another SEC team...

That was before FLORIDA drilled Ohio State.

Bottom line. This year's champ will not be a very good team. Every team out there has glaring holes and bad losses on their records.

I think it is sad that a team like Kansas can beat up on cupcakes and go to a BCS bowl game.

Illinois went to The Ohio St and beat them.

they are on the cusp. Illinois isn't too far fetched. Time to redeem the UCLA Rose bowl debacle

Missouri beat Illinois.
Back to square one.
Its a mess.

It should go something like this:
Regular season BCS used to determine 8 teams in the playoff (yes the moaning for the 8th spot will be heard).
The regular season should count; the playoffs determine who
the best team is at the end of the season. Its like this in almost
every other sport.

But its not gonna happen... and its sad.

One thing about Missouri beating Illinois is that this is one of those cases(and people use this 'excuse way too often) that Illinois is a completely different team now then when they played Missouri, and that game was alot closer then the score indicated. If I remember correctly a couple no-calls and it is a FG game.

I am not an Illinois fan, but I had them on the radar real early in the year(kinda a redboard but my friends could confirm). Zook has done some amazing recruiting things there, which I thought would be impossible. Next year they will win the Big Ten as long as no serious injuries, they are a very young team this year and have progressed like a well coached team does
