They dont make the playoffs with the team they currently have. Pitchers are too young, the position players are getting too old, bullpen still shaky outside of Joba...They will probably make a move to do something about the black hole they have at 1st base and may make a trade for some pitching but they have serious issues for a team with a $200 mill + payroll.

I would agree that the team currently rostered doesn't likely make the post season however we both know the team will change substantially by opening day. There is no way they go to camp like this...

The focus will be that the Yankees were very competitive in the second half and that a new year will bring a new chance. The Yankees haven't missed the post season since when?? They will likely find a way to patch this for 2008.
