What else is Pat Day going to say? Of course he took the blame the horse was like 2:5 and Pat's a class guy.

I'll stick with my premise that on any given day the drift is beatable and FC is potentially a horse that could do it. If the drift needs a hall of fame ride to beat FFI then there is always the chance of another riding miscue that would leave him again second.

Look, this debate is pointless because it sounds like FC will not come. I said that were it to happen the Drift would be a deserving favorite based on paper, but not a lock that's for sure, he's never a lock.

yes ive posted that in another post also its horse racing and im a huge drift fan so i know all about no locks i agree but i am a pat day fan also but you watch that race again and that ride was horrible he asked nothing till it was to late to see ffi cause another horse was blocking pats view a 4 wide around the first turn not a ground saving trip either

i think plain and simple pat thought he had the best horse that day and he did and thought-no worrys- and let his guard down . he got him beat but im not like other drift fans and go on a pat day hateing spree , i like pat one of my favs but he plain and simply took the race for granted

You're right, he probably did let down a little. I see it all the time from riders who feel going into the race that they can't lose. Sometimes they get a wake-up call at the wire and its too late.

Pat Day was one of my favorites on a horse, in his day he was brilliant, like poetry some of his rides.
