Whats a sentance?????????? Anyways it is the reason, its fact, not my guess that its the reason. Saratogas turf course will only accomodate 10 horses not 14 dummy. The turns are way too tight. Once again this is not a guess.

And I believe this is what english teachers would call a run on "sentence."

Let me help you: Your first "sentence" is not coherent or proper.

Please Please correct your grammar and spelling before you even open up that can of worms.

Sorry, I did not have time to proofread my post. However, your sentence did not make any sense. That is on top of the fact that your whole post was wrong.

you can fit ten horses, but not 14 dummies? hmm, didn't know that. but maybe it depends on the size of the dummy.

Phil Phil, im disappointed in you. Number one there aren't 14 horses sprinting into a clubhouse turn at Belmont and 2 they couldn't fit a 14 horse gate in the stretch at Saratoga.

(1) the gate at Saratoga is 14 horses.

(2) the same problem arises at any 1 1/8 circumference course that has hosted any event; Arlington, Hollywood, Aqueduct, etc. The run to the first turn is short in the Distaff. From a course perspective, there's two problems at Saratoga: 1, no way to run a dirt mile, and 2, juveniles would have to go a 1 1/8- which I don't think is a good thing- and the only time this was done in the BC was at Arlington and it didn't work out so well for the Juvy colts&geldings.

There's a problem with every course, Belmont has the quirky start for the 1 1/4 Classic; Churchill can't run a 1 1/4 turf race, Santa Anita will have problems with the Dirt Mile, etc.

So what your saying is that there is a problem with the "size" of the track? But I do remember them runnig miles on the dirt a Saratoga a few years back.. The same way they run the 1 1/4 at Belmont. That quirkey mid turn start.

Turf to Dirt (1 .00 $0.00)
I am right. For the safety and concern of horses and Jockeys alike, there is no way in hell anyone would allow 14 horses to run on the turf course at Saratoga. But I did forget about the 1 1/16 for the juvies though. That is another reason.

No... the width of the track is not an issue as you were suggesting. However, the lack of a mile (or mile and a sixteenth) capability would be now that there's a requirement of a dirt mile.

They ran crappy claimers at a mile when i was a kid at Sar, but that was 20 years ago and I don't even think that "chute" is still there, it looked like Ellis' mile chute.

A former distinctive feature of Saratoga's dirt track was the Wilson Mile chute, which branched off from the clubhouse (first) turn at a 90 degree angle. After the 1971 meeting, its use was suspended; following a brief resumption during the late 1980s and early 1990s.

Im trying to find the proof here on the comp. Im just not making this crap up. Ive read numerous times that the track is too small. Its common knowledge. Obviously you have none of that or sense.
