That's why those agencies, with all the contracts, have come to exist in the first place. Adoptive homes ending up being worse homes than where the dog came from. Try to adopt an ex-racing greyhound from some groups - some have contracts that say you can't ever let the dog off leash (for example, in a dog park). Some are the "permanent owner" of the dog. Every breeder I know has a contract that says the dog comes back to them if it's ever not wanted. Not every breeder that exists, certainly. Anyone who watches their dogs have sex calls themselves a "breeder", and the term means little to nothing, as obviously, it depends upon the person behind the term. Those that want a dog without being beholden to anyone else about what happens to that dog during it's life have a multitude of places to obtain one from. It won't make any dent in the more controlling agencies, in my view. Some folks obviously would be better off with stuffed toys rather than living animals.

Well,I have this American Eskimo Mix of some sort.I took him in,because quite honestly I am already tied down with other dogs. I didn't like want this dog.I took him in because he needed to be taken in.So,this situation is a lil like that situation.Somebody got a dog they probably shouldn't have(but the dog would most likely be dead if they hadn't got him from wherever they got him..pound probably.) They found somebody who could take him in,and actually this lady came by and visited him a couple weeks ago.I don't want somebody coming to my house to check up on this dog.He is my responsibility now,but I don't need somebody over here like that.I don't agree with taking dogs away from people who are providing a good home for a dog.Fine ELLEN and her Woman for this, but don't take the dog away from a new home.I don't particularly like the dog much, but he is happy here. I fully expect he will live his life out with me,and he is a more consistent watchdog than the Minpins are(they are under their covers a lot.)
