Like Angel Cordero just said on ATR, THE '84 BC CLASSIC should have been a double D.Q............When this head steward(Pete Pedersen or whatever his name is)finally passes ,then "I lacked the nad,and it was sad" should be put on his stone.Any intestinal fortitude would have resulted in a double d.q.........It's a stain that will never be fixed.Yes,Steve, find that head-on video, and tell me why they left Pat Day up that day.Why don't ya interview the head ***** in charge that day(Pedersen.)

shame that the foot hindered slew o'gold in the inaugural bc, as well as the antics of gate dancer. he would have been a deserving winner.
and not for nothing is slew o'gold in the top 100 of the 20th century. but then, i'm not surprised some aren't impressed with him. there are other dammed good horses that don't get respect from a few.

I can't even imagine if there was internet back then what sort of an overrated nag that would never get 10 furlongs he would have been considered on here after the Remsen.

Interesting things about the pp's...
No Beyers to bias your opinion SOG was 0 for 2 at Tampa The Wood was run in divisions...now they can barely get enough to qualify as a trifecta race. In 83 Woodward and Marlboro Cup were 3 weeks apart, in 84 2 weeks In 84 Marlboro he carried 129 lbs |
