![]() Didn't know where else to put this........
I'm not a fan of Godolphin or Darley (as is obvious) but their marketing is amazing. Simple, but brilliant. Not sure if you have seen the new adverts and caps for Manduro? "SuperMAN! Manduro, he's the best in the world"

![]() Will Jalil improve for being switched to Poly for the first time? There is a possibility given his pedigree.
Will be watching this race tomorrow with interest.

![]() Jalil only second........ not a great hanicap. I think we can safely say he's only moderate at best.
They bought a Mr Greeley last year for about 5 million, who i have been informed is also tripe. Both coolmore and Godolphin will be treading carefully in future i imagine...... no HUGE buys from now on, i doubt.

Jalil's 2nd. Some other horse is tripe. Not one word that Godolphin had 4 winners today before the Jalil race. You presumably don't want the Americans on here to know that. |

![]() Sorry I've quickly read threw this nonsense-must have missed it's start whilst I was in Saratoga.
Radio Moscow was well at work with his pronouncements trying to con the Americans into believing that he was the fountain of knowledge on all things Godolphin. Loved the bit about Simon Crisford. Got a job at a stud farm and then he was a racing journalist. Doesn't mention that he was an Assisant trainer to Sir Mark Prescott for 2 years-that's possibly the toughest assistantship that anyone can have as Prescott runs a military operation. Crisford moved onto be the gallops correspondent for the Racing Post because he couldn't afford to buy a stable. Prescott's other assistant Adrian Lee moved to Michael Jarvis and then bought a stable which nearly bankrupted him. Even back in 1987-8 when Adrian set up we were talking well over £200,000 (probably around $350,000 then) just to buy the stable. |

![]() Well...... i'm sorrrry, but when you have been best friends with someone who has worked for Godolphin for many years now who will tell you exactly how useless Simon Crisford is. I've heard all the stories. He tries to train the horses and has no idea.
Neil Graham who was doing a good job there. He suggested something to Crisford, the next morning Crisford was on the phone to Graham and was told he had to go. Resignation letter through his door the next day for him to sign. Did they have four winners? I know of three, but didn't realise they had four. I backed all three of them. The 2yo winner at Lingfield is very good and god knows how it was allowed to go off at 10/1. Crisford couldn't afford a stable? pull the other one. He comes form a very wealthy family.... another reason how he managed to get in at Prescott's. You also didn't mention the fact he worked at Lavington, along with someone i used to work with. Crisford was scared of the horses there and was given all the good jobs..... surprise surprise. I spoke only about Jalil because i had mentioned he was running in a previous post about him running on the all weather and thought he could do better on that surface, but obviously not. The Mr greeley, well, i was having a drink with my friend up at Tatts today and he was telling me just how bad it was. I'm not a fan how the operation is run. You can think what you like about Crisford, but if you ask any employee at Godolphin, they will all give you the same answer, which would be "he's a joke". The staff are only there because of the money. As soon as my friend finishes his stock broker exams, he is out of there.

![]() ![]() I wanna know why they kept running him on turf if they apparently knew he was that good on dirt. It is quite a change that the surface has brought out. He was just very moderate on turf, when he raced on it and when he galloped on it at home. As soon as he races on dirt, he's a hit. Still not getting carried away with him, though. Not a world cup horse in my eyes.

![]() From the Telegraph.....
Ibn Khaldun to rise to challenge By HOTSPUR (J A McGrath) Look both ways before crossing the road today, and watch out for a royal blue juggernaut heading towards Ascot. Godolphin, pressing ahead with a swag of winners across the country yesterday, are set to strike again with Ibn Khaldun in the Deloitte Autumn Stakes. Calming Infuence spearheaded the yard's York treble with an effortless maiden win (prompting 33-1 quotes for the 2,000 Guineas and Derby), while their other winners on Knavesmire were Fairmile and Amarna. Over at Lingfield Park, they won with another impressive debutant, Storm Force, but later Jalil, their famous $9.7m yearling purchase, was just touched off in the dying strides of a handicap by the strong-finishing Troubadour. advertisementWhile the Godolphin ranks have lacked a top class three-year-old this year, the talent uncovered in the juvenile ranks has been most encouraging – the Dewhurst remains under "strong consideration" for Rio De La Plata – and Ibn Khaldun, a winner of two of his three outings, can complete his hat-trick at Ascot today. Ibn Khaldun is out of the classy mare Gossamer, winner of the Irish 1,000 Guineas and a lover of soft ground. Despite showing potential at home, the colt was in need of the run first time out and found himself comfortably held in fourth by Ancien Regime in a six-furlong maiden at Yarmouth. But since that day, Ibn Khaldun has started to blossom. After winning a Leicester maiden and a nursery (hacking up) at Ascot, he is now well-equipped to handle the step-up to Group Three company this time. Meeriss, too, has been progressing, adding a Listed win at Goodwood to an earlier maiden victory on the all-weather at Lingfield. He could prove the danger although Naomh Geileis is tough and worthy of respect. Great excitement in the bloodstock world was sparked yesterday when a Sadler's Wells filly, out of the Irish River mare Brigid, created a world record price for a yearling filly sold at public auction when knocked down for 2,500,000 guineas to Craig Bennett at Tattersalls October Yearling Sale, in Newmarket. The sister to Listen, the winner of Ascot's Fillies Mile, is to join Luca Cumani, who also trains Bennett's Caulfield-Melbourne Cups contender Purple Moon. www.telegraph.co.uk/hotspur |

![]() Ibn Khaldoun should win. Very impressive last time, and it is a weak group3 today. He is already 4/7, so not a betting price.
Calming Influence..... i forgot about him yesterday. Didn't see the race but to start evens in a 2yo maiden shows how bad the race was (not being funny). Was more impressed with Storm Force who beat a better field in the style of a good horse. Even more so as my money was on at 10/1....... very nice.
