NY Times article about Vick's pit bulls

it's amazing how many large dogs can be good in apts, and how many small dogs can't! more to it than size.
and disney certainly didn't do any favors to dals or cocker spaniels--neither seem very good with kids.

Not surprised to see a bunch of bitches in a dog thread.

I have no idea, but Charlotte's really adorable! I think it would be neat to get her tested and find out what she's made of. You can do that too with your own DNA- some organization will let you know where your ancestors came from:

Good link to the breed history article, explaining the lineage to English Bulldogs. English Bulldogs are the classic bulldogs in the old cartoons, always depicted as tough bruisers bullying al the other dogs. My parents have owned them, well bred one's that go for $1,000 and up. They have alot of health problems, but are very, very good pets, and not fighters by nature, despite the history of being in the ring with bulls. Once they bite down on something, their jaws won't release, unless pryed with a crowbar. They have a very high tolerance for pain

So, they bred 'em with Black and Tan terriers(some Irish drunkard must've thought up the scheme-and I'm Irish, just so ya' know before you label me) for agility and speed

Some of the Vick supporters seem to keep glossing over the fact that Vick didn't just have dogfights, he and his crew strangled, drowned and electrocuted them, also.

Vick should get at least a year or two in state prison with other murderers, he'll probably fit in well
