Yes. If they go undefeated in conference play (which looks like it's going to happen) then they're in the BCS with an undefeated record.

It depends. Home, Away, Neutral, Injuries, Suspensions, etc.

But they didn't so it's a moot point.

Yes. Florida used Tebow early and that's the reason why they were ahead. It was a risky move that backfired and was really the only way Florida had a shot of winning.

Plus Early Doucet was injured. LSU is much better.

No but I'm here in reality and you're stuck in fantasyland. It didn't happen.

USC shouldn't even be ranked at this point. They lost to a cess pool of a Stanford team. They struggled mightily with a Washington team that OSU hammered. Their signature win was over Nebraska, whom Missouri absolutely pummeled worse than USC did..indicating that USC probably isn't nearly as good as those two teams...granted they are both undefeated and in the top 10 teams...but anyway. They should not be in the top 20...perhaps a 21-35 ranking would be appropriate for them. So the last two years they have lost to Orgon State, UCLA and Stanford. The SC myth is quickly coming to an end. They are not that good. (I'm being a bit melodramatic, great program, but they are completely out of the National Championship picture in my mind even if they beat Cal and the rest of the PAC 10. You lose to Stanford, you should be done.)

I think the Browns should have been in the received votes area ....it just shows you how whimsical these polls can be.

However, if not for maybe one play, not only would they be in the top 20, they would still likely be in the top three. I agree that they aren't nearly as good as they have been in and I don't think they are among the top teams in the country this year. But they haven't slipped so far that they are not better than a team like South Florida. I wonder who would fare better, South Florida in USC's conference or vice-versa? Granted, the gap between the majors and the mid-majors is shrinking in football like it is in basketball. Just about any team is vulnerable on any given Saturday. Boise St beats Oklahoma. App St beats Michigan. The gap is shrinking. But on a week in, week out basis, a team like USC is better than South Florida. Florida is better than South Florida. While SF was playing at Florida Atlantic and nearly being upset (they led 28-23 in the final minute), Florida was nearly upsetting the #1 team in the country on the road.

I'm not saying that this week alone should put Florida ahead of South Florida. After all, SF did beat the same Auburn team that beat Florida. SF obviously has a talented team. I just can't see them as being as superior to Florida as the polls would indicate. The practice of automatically dropping down when u lose is silly. Florida's play in the loss was better than 90% of teams play in their wins. The polls always have been and always will be a sham.

Polls are polls. I don't think South Florida could beat Florida. I actually think one or both of Rutgers and Cincinnati will take care of South Florida. They got a break playing West Virginia when Pat White got hurt and missing most of the game. But the facts remain, they did beat a good West Virginia team and an Auburn team that did beat Florida. I think they deserve their number 5 ranking no matter how good I think they are. A road win at Auburn whom Florida couldn't beat at home and a win over WV speak for themselves. They are where they deserve to be.

healthy pat white wouldn't beat USF. USF hit wvu in the mouth a couple times and wvu couldn't handle it.

I think Auburn is the type of team that tries to play conservative offense, and whup up on D. Lay and wait for other teams to make mistakes. So they can beat teams like Florida and lose to bad teams. USF was not the bad team they lost to.
And I for one think USF can play with any team in the nation if they play well with the possible exception of LSU that will pummel any team if they play well.
I do not think LSU gets to a bowl game undefeated this year.

auburn is a team of headcases. they play up or down to their compation. they overlooked usf and msu and paid for it.
uf is over-rated. if you don't let tebow run around and make him stand and thrown the ball he can't beat you.
lsu and usc are still the 2 best teams in the country, imo.

that's lsu remaining schedule. the only team that has a crack at them is aubarn and it's a home game.

Having been at the USF - WV game, White still looked confused. Not to mention that their back up is the one who put up the TD. DDTide hit it right on the head in another post. USF hit em in the mouth and they couldnt handle it. Actually....they played THROUGH each whistle in that game (or that's how it seemed to me). Some penalties for late hits coulda been called but were not. USF hit them hard every chance they got.

Yeah...USF prob couldnt beat UF at this time. Rutgers will be an even bigger test than WV was for us. Its a short week on the road and they want revenge.

Ohio State deserves to be #1. Of course, they'll be #2 after the bowl game.

USF has shut down the vaunted WVU offense two years in a row. It is not luck, coincidence or injuries....it's called speed.

USF may not be the second best team in the country, there is a long way to go in the season, but they have taken care of business and deserve to be ranked where they are right now.
