We don't always hear about horses that have been sold over there. I knew nothing about Kalaman until he had already been out there a couple years.

I don't agree with it, but i know they have every right to do so. However, i do wish they would print their old names as well as their new ones. It would makes it much more appealing to the european racing fan, especially me who would love to follow Hong Kong racing but i don't know who is who out there of the ex european horses.
The part that you're not understanding is the heat the SCMP guys have gotten in the past six months or so from the HKJC.

Sometimes things are worded carefully but at least they published this.

The HKJC isn't thrilled with certain pieces that they've done and as you know they're VERY powerful.

You go, SCMP!

Not that I'm aware of but they have a LOT of power.

It started with a quote from Danny last season..... something very disrespectful.

I mean, the hourglass was turned back then. The Sacred Kingdom nightmare...

... ummm, well see in it what you will.

It was only a matter of time.

Salford Mill sold to continue racing career in Hong Kong

by Tony Elves

DERBY also-ran Salford Mill has been sold for an undisclosed sum to continue his racing career in Hong Kong and is likely to leave Newmarket in around two weeks time.

The son of Peintre Celebre landed the Listed Newmarket Stakes on the Rowley Mile course by length and a quarter from Acapulco before finishing sixth of 17 to Authorized at Epsom, where he didn't have the best of luck in running.

Salford Mill has his final start for David Elsworth in the Group 3 Arc Trial at Newbury last month and his trainer expects him to prove a very useful acquisition to Hong Kong.
Elsworth said: “Salford Mill has gone into quarantine and is going to Hong Kong in a couple of weeks' time.

“He was a lovely horse and we reluctantly sold him but it was a commercial decision and money speaks all languages. He looks the sort to improve considerably and I would have loved to have been able to train him next year but there you go.”
