I think that this race answered a couple of questions about Lawyer Ron.

1-A lot of people wondered about his ability to handle 10f. I thought he handled it fine.

2-A lot of people wondered if he was just thrived at Saratoga. I thought he ran great over the Belmont track.

If Curlin is not in this race today, Lawyer Ron would have run off to yet another dominating victory over the same trash he beat upstate and everyone would be saying that he answered both questions emphatically.

I agree with your assessment. Lawyer Ron got the 10 furlongs fine but he just isnt the same horse at that distance.

Where's everybody that wrote off Curlin after his Haskell third? This is a big-time colt, who may not have the cuddliest of connections, but runs his ass off, has little distance limitation, is as versatile as any Classic contender and just beat the only BCC horse capable of knocking off the three-year-olds.

What about the truly dominant 1-2-3 finishers of the 1992 Kentucky Derby?
Surely Lil E Tee, Casual Lies, and Dance Floor were all great enough to make it to the classic that year. If they didn't do it, I don't see how any other group could do it.
