![]() I dont think an active player can have a stake in a team. I am not 100% certain, but I believe that is the case. A-Rod is by far one of the top 5 best baseball players playing the game right now when you look at what he can do. He can hit for power, hit for average and he can steal a base here and there. I wouldnt sign him to a 5 year deal that is for sure. I say that a three year deal is more logical. But that won't happen.
Anyway, what is the status of Mark Cuban buying the Cubs? |

You're correct..no player can have any ownership position in a team. I think Cuban would love to buy the Cubs...He was in the bleachers last week and saying all the right things. But the old boys network of Selig and Reinsdorf want no part of him in Chicago. Ironically, Selig supposedly wants a group to buy the Cubs led by a guy who is a monority owner of the Brewers. That is the ultimate insider's game
