Well, if the horse cost $4 million instead of $16 million - he would have been unheard of by the vast majority of people who follow horse racing.
I've seen somethings that I believe outright decepetion went on with regarding final prices at sales. There are some pretty curious things as well. For example, the sales topper at this years Saratoga's select yearling sale was the first foal dropped out of this wonderful race mare.  It's hard to imagine anyone wanting to pay over $2 million for a yearling out of an unproven broodmare, who was a monumentally bad race horse.
