After that quick polytrack work, the daughter of Mineshaft out of a Forty Niner mare sold for $1.75 million.

Her 2nd dam is the Del Mar Oaks winning turf specialist Stylish Star.

Patricia's Gem is believed to be in Dick Mandella's southern california barn, she worked 5 furlongs in 58 flat out of the gate at Santa Anita yesterday.

I'm a little interested in watching this one - I have a hard time imagining a Mineshaft filly being quick.
heck, i'd rather pay 16 mil for a daughter of mineshaft that 1.75 mil for a son of forestry, unless that son of forestry was named discreet cat.

Forest Danger was bought for 900K at the same sale as TGM....only three years earlier.

He is now standing stud - passing on his soundness and durability to the future generations.

I guess it's a good thing nobody paid $16 million for The Green Monkey.

Well not sure how much has been said here but if y'all were talking the same story I'm aware of it's essentially that they bought him privately beforehand for much much cheaper (well compared to $16 mil) and got into a fake p*ssing contest with the Dubai folks just to go 'oh oh see, I just whipped out $16 mil without even blinking' but the $8 mil or even cheaper is the ballpark figure for the real price of "the Monkey." I'll see if I can hunt up the play by play as I was told. It might take a minute to search the right message board. Of course it's all "alleged" if you know what I mean. Eh.
