regulus is the royal star from the constellation leo (which fits in with the cat as well as the name from the sire) but i don't think regulus is a fillies' name...

here's a link to wikipedia on the constellation leo:

or we could just call her fred.

Is there an easy search to see what the five Read the Footnotes offerings sold for?

The website appears to be down...

They haven't gone through the ring yet.

You're talking about hips 3674, 3846, 4946, 5133 and 5139 right? I like Read the Footnotes as well... his babies looked really good when I saw them last year. Hope he's a success.

As always, thanks for the help Cajun. I have not followed the sales that closely in the past, but I loved RTF.

Thanks for the HIP numbers.

Good thing we hit where we did and weren't waiting for him... That is typical of what has been going on.. Identify horse; price them at @ $50k; Watch as they go for more... Chuck didn't think that colt was worth more than $50k either, but so many have been flying past the target sum like that and selling at 40-50% more than anticipated...

Glenye Cain (DRF) on 'At the Races' tonight (4:45) to talk about just that phenomenon the past 4 days at the sale...

The more I look the more perfect Regulus is. There are four royal stars and two of them are Aldebaran and Regulus. And with the dam name being Cat Woman the royal star in Leo is absolutely perfect. I think you found the best match we can get based on sire and dam yet I agree that it may not be the best name for a filly. I still like it more than most of the other nominees.

Default Congrats on the purchase.

My opinion on the name of the filly:

Since she's the first that you guys get to name, the name should have something to do with the forum or the lingo used in a forum and not the stars........ something like "Post Reply" or "Members List"...etc

While exciting, everyone needs to chill on the naming game, y'all should just let Steve name as he is creative and will figure out something awesome, and it eliminates possible jealousy and in-fighting about how someone got to name the horse.

After all, he has put this whole shindig together, he should get the honor of naming it, as long as he promises me not to get all crazy with the english language
