The owners and trainers should be ashamed of themselves for Tiz Wonderfuls demise.

that was pretty much what i was inferring in my original post.

by demise, do you mean that his demise as a racehorse, or that he ended up dying?

Just the constant beating he took as a racehorse. He was in a butchershop to begin with, hyped up, and really had nowhere to go but down.

I dont know if hes still with us, but I havent heard anything to the contrary. Hopefully hes not insured

I suppose in order to make an assertion that Tiz Wonderful's connections should be ashamed of themselves one has to assume that Steve Asmussen knowingly put Tiz Wonderful on the track when injured. I am no great Steve Asmussen fan, but is it possible to have that knowledge as just a racing fan?

I'd say no, especially given that Tiz Wonderful's supposed injury happened after the running of the More Than Ready today. We've gone over Tiz Wonderful's performance in the Jim Dandy, so there's no need doing that again. However, today he did not run a bad race at all. He lost to a horse who was definitely improving a bit more than I anticipated, but it's not like Tiz Wonderful disgraced himself.

I'm wondering how much the collective feelings on this board about the whole Tiz Wonderful situation has to do with Asmussen himself and his checkered past. While Asmussen's horrendous record in terms of drug positives and suspensions is indefensible, I just don't see how he can be blamed or should feel ashamed for the way he handled Tiz Wonderful.

Hours and hours of watching the sales videos so she knew that Street Sense and Any Given Saturday were finished by their strides in the Tampa Bay Derby?

Thank goodness Dee-Tee didn't hire her as a consultant.

Why the mad rush? Because he had about 2 races left blocked and stocked, thats why. This horse had a very serious injury, not a little tendon, he was really f'ed up. I understand the busienss involved, but at sometime human compassion and common sense are supposed to trump greed.

EZ Warrior may be one of the worst hype jobs of the 21st century. That and DW Lukas with Flying First Class, are the two worst this year
