![]() For ten years I lived two blocks up from St. Vincent's Hospital. Eventually I slept through ambulance sirens and flashing lights. You will likely adjust, just because you'll get too tired to stay awake!
I never did get used to the g*dd*mn Knicks fans honking loudly at 3AM on their way to the Holland Tunnel after games, though. I never needed to watch the game to know if the Knicks won or lost; I could tell by the noise level outside my window in the wee hours of the morning. For my part, I wish Darwin would take care of f*ck*ng sports fans who feel a need to announce their team loyalties hours after the game ended. Starting with Knicks fans with access to car horns. Now I sleep through angry, screaming conversations outside my window every night. Some of them can still wake me, though. Makes me nostalgic for the ambulance sirens. But not the Knicks fans.
