It would be nearly impossible to screw up racing in NY. Perhaps NYRA should just be in charge of racing and let another company run the slots. NYRA says they are non-profit so why are they so interested in slots. Just agree to a certain percentage and stick to racing.

NYRA is just as corrupt as any other group though. Buying off politicians has always been connected to horse racing in NY. Just go to Saratoga and see how many boxes have NY politicians names on them.

Not-for-profit is just their tax status. Doesn't mean they should not try to have a business model that makes money.

If it is nearly impossible to screw up NY racing, why would you want someone in there who has a track record of corruption and bankruptcy?
