![]() If a trainer wants to dodge the competition by going in an easier spot then thats fine. But, if they enter a horse then scratch after entries are taken w/o valid excuse(like an injury), then the trainer should be fined. IMO this would limit trainers from entering and then scratching b/c the race came up too tough for their horse.

Not trying to change the industry, just tired of seeing trainers scratch horses b/c of weights,post,pace,etc. If you don't have deterrents in place, trainers like Frankel will enter and then scratch b/c his horse is giving up too much weight. (just an example) That way we don't end up w/ Graded Stakes w/ 5 horse fields, due to scratches. I guess i'm just venting frustration..sorry ![]() |
