This leg was the reason I didn't play it - wanted to use 5 or 6 - decided on 4 and of course picked the 12-1 winner "for fun"

for fun - not wagering...Like a few others including Money Oriented in the last and Raw Silk in the first - out of my budget

Here's to hoping for 5 of 6. The track at Saratoga is constantly favoring closers who run down the middle of the track. The rail still sucks.

The only reason I shied away was the gaudy 5% first out winners for Kimmel. Went with the McLaughlin instead....dam won at first asking and won a Graded Stake...

I saw that - thought Raw Silk really had a shot but too much talent in this field to get by the post position apparently...Successful Appeals are 21% first time winners though, and I watched the replays of the 7 and 9's last "troubled" trips - really didn't see anything that looks like trouble cost them the race, so I was ready to toss both of 'em...Thought the 5 was a wise guy play being bought down the way she was so I had to include though I didn't see anything there either - still could have made a strong case for every other one except the 3 though...It was one of those races where I could have gone 5 horses deep and still would have left out Banner Day - AP indy filly from a Forty Niner mare
