No, really, it's not a huge thing at least from my perspective around here, but there are certainly some things to do. Arlington Heights usually has a sort of town festival of some sort in their downtown this weekend if I'm not mistaken. But it doesn't really become a huge deal for most people around here.

Really though, the Million seems like the kind of day you've got to get to once. It's really a phenomenal day of racing (well, moreso in some years past, but this year will have to do) and a great atmosphere at the park.

Because I don't like her. She's a fine racehorse, but something about her just doesn't grab me.

On the other hand, I've had a slight love affair with Jennie R. for years here watching her run and struggle to really break through. She's never been my favorite, but she's one of those that I've seen for a few years here and she seemed to be so consistently close to being a good horse, but never really got there until this year.

With that said, she has no chance on earth tomorrow, so at the very least I hope my girl can wreak havoc on the chalk. If she can't win it, I hope that she can at least help guarantee that Citronnade won't.

I was just kidding, but I can certainly understand the sentiment. I love front running turf fillies (My Typhoon, Intercontinental, Noble Stella) They just keep bringing it straigth down to the wire. All the signs point against Citronnade tomorrow, but from a person who has great respect for horses, I really enjoy watching her respond on the turn with that big stride when Flores lets her go.

loved seeing my typhoon win again the other day. she's a lot of fun! maybe not quite the same as watching megahertz...what is it about come from the cloud closers??

That's exactly how I've felt watching Jennie R. in her last three races. She's set some pretty swift fractions in them and has just somehow kept on and has only been beaten by one horse in her last three -- and that one would have been a potential contender in here given how explosive she was in winning the Modesty.

haha, someone just told me about the balloon. i'll have to keep my eye out cause i haven't seen it yet.

i said the same thing in another post, its not such a big deal to most around here. although the track will be packed tomorrow for sure.
