He is playing a dangerous political game. A slap at the Clinton's. I hope he was informed Pakistan has nukes. Sad to say, but these countries must be dealt with differently. Pakistan is an ally only in that their government has made attempts to help in certain situations. But a very significant portion of the population is rabidly anti US (many for religious reasons, others because we are more friendly with their most hated neighbor, India). Their political leaders know this. Very unstable situation in that country.

we've been trying to hunt them down, the problem is that they're in Pakistan.
An invasion/military operation is out of the question. This country is basically an ally only because of Musharaf who is hanging on by a string. Large sections of their muslim population hate us, and its a very populous nation.

i agree. we spend billions on iraq for zero results. meanwhile bin ladden sits in some cave hatching the next hit! we should of put 160,000 troops on the border of afganastan and pakastan and demanded the surrender of al queda. if we didn't get them then we should of went in. welcome to iraq and the USA police department. thats all we are there, the police. its a joke and a farce. oh yeah and a waste of billions $$$$$$$$$$

It's too bad that all we can hope for in Iraq is far less than we could have gotten four years ago when Iran wanted to deal. When the Iranians saw the U.S. "take" Baghdad after three weeks of thrashing the same Iraqi Army Iran stalemated with over three years, they were ready to help end the conflict. Bush passed and put them on the Axis of Evil list. I won't say he was wrong to do so but it hasn't worked out too well. On the other hand, if you put $10k into Haliburton stock five years ago, it's now worth $55k.

I don't think Obama can win. He talks about "emerging intact" after the primary/general, which to me means he's not willing to do what needs to be done. I also think the Republicans are hoping Clinton gets the nom and with the primaries basically done by early March, that's too long for her to survive the barbarian horde the GOP will unleash. I think Edwards has the best Dem chance to win because this is it for him, he's got less baggage and the only knock on him of being a civil trial lawyer will not move people against him very much.

I don't think McCain will last long. I doubt Guilaini can last either and I don't think he can win the general. I don't really care that he met his third wife while cheating on his first wife with his second wife, but a lot of people will. My guess is Hound Dog Thompson beats out Romney.

If Condi Rice is elected President, I'm leaving the country. Malta is nice.
