This is good stuff. The Belmont Stakes. People never learn. And of course, it's not about the money right? Because these people have plenty of money. Please. It's ALWAYS about the money and the breeding. Why do u think Coolmore retired a perfectly healthy horse to take the place of an unsuccessful George Washington? The writing has been on the wall with this one for a while. After the Belmont, instead of saying they were shooting for even bigger goals, they talked about scaling her back to facing third rate fillies. Then the fever. Then when asked if anything was wrong with her, Pletcher responded with "not yet". Stevie Wonder could see what's going on here. Now this. And we get the infamous "we looked her over and don't see anything wrong". How many times have we read that over the past couple of years before the horse gets a nuclear scan and a very slight infirmity is found and the horse is retired? Nevermind the fact that 99% of horses would show some types of infirmities if they were put under the nuclear scan. If u look hard enough, u can find a reason to retire every horse in training. They will find one for Rags although in reality, they already have one........her value.

We are talking colts and fillies here. A 3yr old colt retired to stud can produce how much income? A ton.

A filly retired to the shed can produce one offspring a year.

Apples and oranges people.

Can't answer that question because we don't know how either is going to produce.

Just because a horse wins a triple crown (or has tremendous success on the track) doesn't ensure success over the long run in the shed. Storm Cat, Mr. P or Affirmed, Secretariat?

Her value would be to sell her babies at auction. Why would the owners care about that with the money they have? They are going to breed her and race her babies. If she happens to produce a triple crown winner, they will retire him to stud for an outrageous fee, but if his first couple crops don't produce, that will be the end of the money printing.

It's all speculative, but I will stand by my statement that it is apples and oranges.

So who do they send her to breed? She has Bold Ruler on top and Northern Dancer on the botton. Fu Peg?

Yup , i think we've seen the last of her at least for the summer, They are shipping her off the New Bolton "just to be sure". As King Glorius has said, I'll bet the farm they find some small thing wrong with her and either she'll be put on the shelf until the Fall or she's retired.

I'd be shocked if she ran in The Alabama.

This happens evey year we get a star, something happens. Ihope I'm wrong.
