I never thought we would see her race again. Way the hell too much money at stake to have her loose or injured...

Its not about the money with her owners. They already have money trees in both front and back yards to shake. They'll do whats best for her, which might not be what people necessarily want.

this from the bloodhorse mag after the belmont: "We are at the stage in our lives where we like to enjoy our horses, and I certainly wouldn't want to retire any of them to be become stallions or broodmares at age 3. Now sometimes, because they are high-strung animals, you don't have any option. But in a perfect world, we would keep them all running through age 4."--micheal tabor

we just have to hope they weren't blowing smoke. i'd imagine they are planning to keep her and add her to their broodmare barn, so it's not as tho her value is a worry, other than to themselves. i don't know that she could harm that to be honest, she has shown herself to be pretty special. as for future, pletcher said she came back ok, they jogged her and she looked fine. maybe a bit of over-zealousness on the part of the rider.

This is good stuff. The Belmont Stakes. People never learn. And of course, it's not about the money right? Because these people have plenty of money. Please. It's ALWAYS about the money and the breeding. Why do u think Coolmore retired a perfectly healthy horse to take the place of an unsuccessful George Washington? The writing has been on the wall with this one for a while. After the Belmont, instead of saying they were shooting for even bigger goals, they talked about scaling her back to facing third rate fillies. Then the fever. Then when asked if anything was wrong with her, Pletcher responded with "not yet". Stevie Wonder could see what's going on here. Now this. And we get the infamous "we looked her over and don't see anything wrong". How many times have we read that over the past couple of years before the horse gets a nuclear scan and a very slight infirmity is found and the horse is retired? Nevermind the fact that 99% of horses would show some types of infirmities if they were put under the nuclear scan. If u look hard enough, u can find a reason to retire every horse in training. They will find one for Rags although in reality, they already have one........her value.
