![]() Good job! There is nothing more enjoyable than congratulating someone on here who boasts they've hit so and so AFTER THE FACT.

So, I may be wrong. But, if I am reading the Del Mar charts correctly, 6 winners also had OneBadBeast's hit in the first leg of the Pick 6 to collect a $112,000+ win? |

![]() Ok, I just read the charts from yesterday at Del Mar. Please tell me that there is an error on there. Please tell me that Buzzard's Bay, whom I've never thought too highly of but also never thought of as complete garbage, didn't LEAD the San Diego through fractions of 24.54, 49.46 and 1:14.06 and STILL couldn't hold on, finishing 8th, beaten more than 13 lengths. I can't believe that is how that race unfolded. Anytime a horse that's a graded stakes winner is allowed to lead a race in 49 and change and 1:14 and change on the dirt, they should be conceded the victory right then and there, especially in a race that's only 8.5f. What the hell happened? How does a horse that was absolutely last for 6f close to win going away after those kind of fractions? What the hell is going on?

kind of ironic as they skipped the Gold Cup, where the pace was slowish, for this spot. I do think it is MUCH tougher to wire around two turns rather then 1. Looking at the race though there were 7 horses withing a length or two of winnning, that tells me that the surface makes it that screwed up and we know nothing more now then we did before the race so what good is it as a handicapper? |

FWIW, I read somewhere yesterday that one of the jockeys said the track is playing well for the horse that has "one run." Paraphrasing, he said he believed that any horse that has to work hard during the race to maintain a position is more likely to wear down and tire in the polytrack. Another FWIW is that I read in advance elsewhere from Sun Boat's trainer that they were planning to go with the late run strategy. The trainer of Buzzard's Bay was quoted somewhere as saying they were going for the lead early and often (paraphrased). The jockeys are still going to school on the strategy poly at Del Mar. |

![]() Nice hit. I've been watching very closely, until of course I leave for the Spa, LOL. I've also spoke with several jocks, trainers, etc. -- and I am liking what I see of the new surface. Just like with most of the others that have gone in, there will be a work in progress and life cycle to it. A major rain storm, a flood, whatever -- stuff happens to dirt, turf, synthetic, and so on.
As far as the redboard -- like I said, nice hit. I think too many people make too big a deal. Eric |

![]() I really don't have a problem with redboarding, I have a problem with it being spread through both forums (selections and here) and thread titles being ambiguous (Del Mar). I don't want to read the crap if I don't have to.
I would be all for a redboarding/low self-esteem/who gives a sh.it forum where everyone can go to brag on themselves. If you're not going to post picks on a regular basis, and you insist on being the ******* at the track who doesn't inform his buddies of who he likes until after the fact (and only when their pick wins), then don't be surprised when you get a little heat from it. |
