![]() I can tell you my least favorite Funny Cide memory was when I bet him strong in the Louisanna Derby, and Peace Rules went by him like he was standing still.
I thought his 3yo return race that year was sneaky awesome, in the same sort of way I felt about Giacomo's Sham Stakes loss, but I couldn't find an excuse for FC in the Fairgrounds race. Not only did I lose a sizeable wager on the soon to be Derby winner that day, but I also held his performance that day against him in his next two outings. I had a pretty good sized Empire Maker over Peace Rules straight exacta in the Derby that year....that he had to reject. |

![]() My favorite was the Excelsior last year. He was coming off a horrendous effort in the GPH in Gulfstream and all the clowns were out on these boards again saying to hang it up. It was Migliore's first time on him and he sent him like a bat out of hell on a torrid pace letting him roll. He hung on for second running all the way and he received a Beyer well over 100 in the run. It was the start of a nice run getting on the board in that grade 3, winning the NY bred King's Point...getting on the board in the Schaefer, another grade 3 and winning the grade 3 in Canada.
...whatever...
