There's a hotel literally within walking distance. Its either a Hilton or Sheraton; can't remember since its changed names before. Its right on Euclid Avenue (the road that runs parallel to the backstretch run) and Rohlwing Road.

This site should help you: http://www.arlingtonpark.com/visit_t...an_your_visit/
It gives you the official Arlington Park Hotel partners, maps, directions, places to eat in the area etc. |

With the usual throng of a couple hundred in attendance expected this Wednesday, you may be able to scare up and seat or two among the 12,000 empty grandstand seats you'll find. Tomorrow, if you're still willing to fork over a hunny for a seat, you can book it that Arlington management will be willing to put you in a saddle on any horse on the grounds. For fine dining, if memory serves me correct, there's a quaint little village just down the road with 8 million+ residents called Chicago. If the gods are with you, there may still be a restaurant open there after the last race ends at approximately 5:00 P.M.

get your seats ahead of time. info for them is on AP's website, arlingtonpark.com
The hotel right next to the track is a Sheraton and is definitely walking distance from the track. If you want to be in the 2nd level (reserved/box seats), I'd personally recommend the box seats in section F or G. F ($60) is 1 section closer to the finish line than G, but G ($40) is right in front of the jumbotron. The clubhouse box seats ($75) would be near the finish line. Any 2nd level seat is a good place to watch the race from. |

Hilton Northbrook is worth the 5 minute drive. Sheraton is kinda run down and costs more.

5 minutes from Northbrook to AP? Maybe by rocketship. Not in any car I've seen.
