eh, i can be wrong -- it was a trick question for an english major anyway because it's not of english origin so regular phonetic rules won't necessarily apply.

I applied regular English language phonetic rules to a word that doesn't apparently conform to them. I've learned my lesson, for sure!

Ha, I know. I've got to learn to control myself -- any thread that asks for English majors pops up and I can't help myself, it's rare that someone actually needs someone with an English degree for anything.
