Danny Ainge is an idiot. I am not a big Celtics fan, but why on earth would you want Ray Allen who will be 32 with multiple injuries instead of Jeff Green. Then they draft a guard that will compete with Rondo for the starting point. People in Boston have got to be pissed. Kudos to Atlanta for a fine draft. Even though they have about 1 million forwards, they can always trade 1 or 2 away.

Side note to ESPN - GET RID OF STEPHEN A SMITH. He is just awful.

It may not be as bad a deal as you think. If/When the Celts are out of the playoff picture there are plenty of teams that may desire Allen for a legit playoff run (can you say Cavs?). The biggest thing that they did was trade Wally and his idiotic contract which frees up a lot of cap space for them that they were stuck with through 2009. (26 mill I believe). They still have Radcliff's expiring contract to deal and at least Allen will be marketable if and when they need to deal him. Plus you keep Pierce occupied during the offseason.

I wonder if Wally was the key in this trade happening. The Celts prob told the Sonics that they have to take Wally if they want Green. I hope everything works out OK for both teams. I love when Boston is in the hunt because their fans are so enjoyable to make fun of.

I think Ainge just wanted out of that unmovable contract. Allen has a big contract but he has actual value because he is a good player. Wally is a 13 million dollar mistake. The Celts picked two pretty good guys in the 2nd round including Davis from LSU with Seattles pick.

Apparently Stephen A. Smith, Spike Lee, and Isiah Thomas are all good buds. This should scare the crud out of Knicks fans. They appear to be jubilant over a trade allowing them to get Zach Randolph. Getting rid of Francis was good, but Randolph is a huge gamble I guess they had to make. This guy is a head case with 4 years left on a contract over 60 million, and they are happy over clearing some room by getting rid of Francis... the Blazers will be done with him in one year.

And Stephen A, and Spike crooning over "zeek" was just sickening. Isiah is going to get along great with Randolph. Two guys with the inability to control themselves in NY??????????? Holy crud this could be fireworks. This really makes the NBA season interesting. I am very much looking forward to next season. Portland may be very tough for a good while.
