That was strange yesterday. I can only assume it was some sort of pre-programmed glitch. Hopefully they can straighten it out so it doesn't happen for the next 2 weeks, or however long the tennis runs. 180 channels and they have to stick this tennis nonsense on 126?

I am sure the programming people are looking at the channels and the only thing live on 126 is ATR from 4-7 Eastern and then repalys of ATR. They have several hours of advertising their own programming throughout the day (killing time until Steve comes on at 4). They probably looked at it as preempting 1hr of 1 show vs. preempting whole shows on other channels.

I don't like it, but I can see why it is being done. The only real way to stop it is for everyone to listen everyday. Get the ratings high enough that they wouldn't consider preempting 1 minute of the show.

Bigs, I don't think they have "ratings" on satelite radio. Listener feedback would be about the only thing they can use to verify that we are listening to ATR. I change my stations every 2 or 3 minutes during the day, I don't think there's any way they can monitor exactly what we're listening to.

I used ratings in the wrong sense. I don't have a clue what technology they do have, but I would be shocked if they didn't have the ability at any time to "see" how many of the receivers are tuned in to any one station at any time.

How else are they going to decide what shows to keep and how much they pay their talent? They are not going to program 200 channels on listener feedback. Steve may be able to enlighten us on this.
