I'm not condoning poor behavoir by fans, but there sure is a misguided approach by way too many people who work at the track about fans' rights, and who pays to put on the show. I read an article earlier this year that jockeys should read where Derek Jeter was quoted as saying, essentially, " I have never heard of a professional athlete telling the fans how to behave. "

It wasn't meant to be taken seriously. She was just trying to show how ridiculous the suspension is. 30 days is a bit overboard, don't you think?

i think it is. i don't think that the punishment should have been any different if it was only witnessed by one person. mob rule shouldn't apply--people called to complain, they should have said 'we're aware of the situation, and it will be handled accordingly'.

I'll let her tell me whether or not she was serious but you may be right.

Do I think the suspension was too severe? Probably. But I also think Eibar Coa getting 10 days a few months ago in NY for using a horse as a weapon in an attempt to injure another rider was downright insane. Certainly that was far worse than what Molina did.

well i guess she wrote that one. altho she might not think it's ridiculous!

personally, i don't act like an ass--but some choose to do so, and i'd imagine they think it's just fine--and probably funny. but you can't start tossing people out because they're idiots or say idiotic things.

I think the punishment doesnt fit the crime. I have seen trainers yank on horses on the paddock when they wont stand still to get saddled which is where everyone can see them . I have seen trainers shank the ever loving crap out of horses when they are being unruly in the paddock and I have also seen them give a knee to the guts when they didnt think anyone saw it .
I have witnessed pony people poke horses in the eye and smack them in the head when they are on the way to the gate and the race horse is trying to mount their pony . Ive seen these things at **** hole tracks like Waterford park and the Great race place Santa Anita . The jock did something that wasnt right Ill agree but he doesnt deserve this harsh of a punishment and he sure as hell doesnt desereve to be kicked in the gut buy a 1000 lb animal. That is like saying someone should have hit your mom upside the head with a baseball bat when she spanked you for picking on your lil brother or sister.
