Excuse my ignorance but what exactly is handfasting. I know what fasting is, but is handfasting the same thing or something related to the wiccan religion.

Handfasting is the Wiccan equal of marriage, in the past, it would last for one year where upon the couple could then renew or separate; today, most couples see it as a permanent union.
