I lived there from 93-95. I was 23 and single and it was the best two years of my life, up to that point. I'm married now with a child and back in NY were I was born and raised. I don't think I would want to raise a child down there (no offense to the southerners on the board) but as a young single guy from NY, it was awesome.
I'd head over to the Dallas side of things if you are a yankee. You may find Fort Worth to be a bit hokie. Try either lower Greenville Ave or Deep Ellum (
