I side with you Andy. Contessa's horses are typically overbet. One need only look at some of his horses today. They burn a ton of cash. I am looking at Good Going Darl (3-1) whose first off the shelf was good on May28 and if he can run back to '06 turf form he should be tough. Also think SS Crafty (12-1) may provide nice value. He needed his last and Rice is very good with runners making 2d starts off long layoffs.

His last win is a total phony set up by a slow pace and all the horses out of that race ran horrendously Wednesday at Belmont. He has a little turf breeding but who needs a horse, trying the turf for the first time, who is overbet due to dirt form.....and phony dirt form at that.

Didn't he run a "bang up" race on the weeds at the Spa last summer and he was a good price?

Andy....not sure we will see 12-1 again anytime soon.

A case of too far back, too early? Clearly was widest of them all at the top of the stretch.

Getting steadied out at the start certainly didn't help things. Couple that with the absolute dream trip the winner had and you get my usual second place at a huge price.

It's frustrating.

yeah...just watched the replay a few more times and the winner could not have had it any easier.

This Garcia kid is growing on me very quickly. I like the efforts I am seeing from him. Doesn't always make the correct decisions (but what jockey does?), but again, I have always been able to say I appreciate the effort he gives.
