Someone needed to throw her under the bus and I admire Annika for doing it. It could not have been easy to come out with those statements. There have been locker room rumblings for a long time. The biggest issue is she acts like this on sponcer exemptions.

However this could help Wie, don't be suprised now if Nike gives her some advise. They will have a sit down with the whole Wie circus train, because they have a lot of money invested. They may even tell the dad to back off.

She is young and there is still hope, but there have been many spoiled brats whose behavior never improved.

When Annika speaks perhaps the kid will listen, I don't blame her...she's still too young for all this but the class of those around her is a problem! If it isn't addressed now, a great talent will be wasted!

Not so sure I agree with that. Although Annika's game has not been up to a level that we are used to, she has carried that tour on her shoulders for the past decade. She is respected and held in the highest regard among her peers out there. The LPGA is playing for a great deal more money than ever before and Annika plays a large role in that. I assure you, she is not about to stand by and watch anyone disrespect what she has had a great hand in building.

it's a shame how the whole wie situation has played out from day one. no way a kid should be put into the situations she's been put in. they should have let her mature, it's called the Lpga for a reason--adolescents need not apply. talent doesn't mean a lot when you're a head case.

i remember when andre agassi turned pro. so much talent, everyone knew he was going places. he went out and had fun, and ticked off a lot of people who thought he was wasting that talent. he didn't waste it, he had a good time, then grew up and got serious, and lasted at the top of the game for years and years longer than so many of his burned out contemporaries.

the report i heard this afternoon was that she REALLY upset the sponsors, McDonald's i think.
why is she allowed to act this way? shouldn't the tour step in and take some action?

For gosh sakes Wie went out to the practice range and hit balls with ONE whole day of rest? Mickelson was getting injected with cortisone and told to rest. Pathetic.

And Serena Williams. I watched her recent French Open match. She is now officially a fat, out of shape tennis player. I know she is muscular and has the tendency to be large, but now she is fat. Stay off the flippin court, people play to watch you play a game you got to be in shape for. There is no fat in Tennis.
You cant play clay court tennis out of shape. She showed no foot work whatsoever. Made no attempt to get her feet set properly because that requires effort. Horrid showing for such talent.

tide....she did get upset while she was at registration. When the players register, there are given 1 wrist band, per day, for a guest to accompany them into the players hospitality area. Michelle got upset and started acting like a bit childish because she wanted at least 3 or 4 per day. She finally whined enough where she was given 1 extra per day, but even then she was still not happy at all.

Still alot of growing up left to do.

should the tour take some action against her?
there was talk on espn radio that the tour "suggested" she quit the tourny last week because if she shot 88, she'd lose her exemptions?

Its called "Rule 88". It basically states that if a NON-MEMBER (Michelle is not a member) of the LPGA shoots a score of 88 or higher in a tournament round, they are suspended from playing in any tour events for 1 year. If Michelle has finished bogey-bogey on her last two holes, she would have shot 88.
