They were money at BEL last fall, and the first part of the inner....Don't know if they've had a falling out since, or if his stable isn't what it was, but Alan Garcia seems to be getting the majority of the rides these days, and doing quite well on them.

Mud calks are small cleats that they add to the shoe for bite. Depending on the step of the horse, they may use quarter inch bended shoes instead.

Contessa uses them almost exclusively at BEL unless there is a reason the horse won't take to them.
