Default Ohio Derby

Here's my opinion on the Ohio Derby, which is also the TG ROTW:

Cowtown Cat is a major play against (I'm sure Andy would agree with this). Can't like his horrible effort in the Derby, other than his perfect trip/inflated Hawthorne Derby figure, he is just another horse in here, and he's spotting the rest of the field between 7 and 9 pounds. I realize betting against Pletcher is never a sure thing, but as favororite, this may be a good spot to try and beat this horse.
That said, the rest of the field is fairly evenly matched. #3 Moyers Pond made a nice forward move in the slop last out, a pair-up of that would give him a good shot. #8 Reporting for Duty has been running an 0/x pattern (which means one good one, one bad one), today should be a good one if that pattern holds. #5 Delightful Kiss has an 0-2-somewhat x pattern (4, 6, 8.75 on the turf) and has 1 months rest for today.
So I say, box those 3, #'s 3,5 and 8. You can also use just about anyone else, but Cowtown Cat will be a big underlay.

Thanks Gus, I was wondering if anybody noticed that. I boxed the tri and exacta, thought both payouts came back a bit short, but not complaining.

I love that 0-2-somewhat x pattern

Good job, golfer. Two other DT'ers had the tri, so that might explain why it came up a little short.

I admire your guts, I just think Fab Strizzy's too quick for 'em.

Ateam, Nice call, he's the real deal. Should be interesting when he faces Grade 1 company.

There weren't too many front runners coming back to the field yesterday. Gaff might have to strike earlier than usual.

FS didn't look back either. Good call.
