the overrated one works

I actually think this horse is truly the goods, but he will be viewed by the American public as overrated until he comes back and proves that he is a legit Gr. I performer....I guarantee you that the connections of Flower Alley and Invasor and other top handicap horses on the East coast DO NOT want to see him back at the races....

bellamy road turned in one bad performance, on derby day, and that makes him overrated? a lot of top horses have bad days, BR was just unlucky enough to do it in front of a nationwide audience....his average winning margin to that point was double digit lengths! and then as mentioned, his fantastic run in the travers. he's got a lot of talent, i'm happy to see him back working and am eager to see him return to the races. c'mon playa, he got a lot of hype....but it's not HIS fault! don't hold it against him...

Trying the Virginia Derby perhaps?...He doesn't have a grass pedigree but Kairan may think that the grass 3yos are softer than the dirt 3yos at this point (especially after he lost to Minister's Bid and Racketeer in an ALLOWANCE)....I'm not close to that camp so I don't know but someone in here should be....Byk would probably know....

Derby they may figure to take a shot...What the hell?...Nothing to really lose because this horse probably can't win on the dirt in most of the 3yo stakes on the East coast because the crop is so good....interesting, but the fact is that he'd be 20-1 in the Va. Derby if it turns up as contentious as the Colonial Turf Cup.....

Another intersting turfer is Steppenwolfer, who just worked 1:00 and change over the Belmont turf. I think this could be a good change for him -closers do well on turf and his sire, Aptitude, has sired some pretty talented turf horses. He may run in the Lexington coming up and I look forward to that. What do you think of this move, Joel?

The reason for that performance was an injury sustained during the race also. This horse will impress many if he stays sound.

can't wait to see him on the track again, this gets him that much closer. keep your fingers crossed that he continues to move forward.

another horse who's next race i'm eagerly looking forward to is pine island. heckuva run to finish just behind bushfire the other day.

Pine Island is exciting for as lightly raced as she is.....she moves like a turf horse with her style and leg action, but she clearly as good on either surface.....Plus, I own an Arch La-bred 2yo filly and would love to see her turn into a superstar to help my filly some...
