My guess is some overly aggressive SPAM filters. Some are so hell bent on trapping SPAM that they will "sacrifice" a small percentage of legitimate mail in the pursuit.

Hi Steve - I am mfgately1@yahoo.com and I received your e-mail. It arrived at 3.30 today not sure when you sent it. I have you added as a contact in my yahoo mail, maybe that makes the difference?

least have it narrowed down to a yahoo glitch but tiz a mystery because you think it would show up in the "bulk" mail folder if was being labeled spam - but they've just been showing up in the regular in-box 8-10 hours late, the one from over the weekend never arrived at all, but the one sent mid-afternoon today arrived PROMPTLY, go figger.. maybe the filter is reacting to the word "LOVE" in the filly's name lol?????

Yes MO you have a good point re. bulk folder (as long as everyone screens their bulk folder ). Possibly is just a yahoo bug that drops e-mails through the crack.
